Our Little Girl! Alli Paige Hansen 5/21/2009

The next day with my healthy baby and no more I.V.

Her cry was music to my ears

Her poor, sore, head. It hurt her to lay down.
Her little I.V.'d hand

Nurses and R.T. working on her

Our first family photo after 12 hours of labor and 1 1/2 hours pushing. I only got to hold her for a minute before they had to take her.

Our little chunk, Alli Paige Hansen 7 lbs. 4 oz. 19 inches

Can you say "epidural"?

We are so happy to have this new addition in our family. She is such a good baby! Things were a little iffy when she first arrived. Her head was turned sideways and I was having to push out the biggest part of her head. The dr. couldn't get it turned manually so we had to use the vaccuum. She ended up have some trauma to head-it ripped the skin and she has a big red bruise. Once her head turned she came right out but the cord was wrapped so tightly around her neck that she was white, limp, not breathing, and there was no heartbeat. The respitory team and nurses worked on her for what seemed like forever while we waited to hear her cry. That is the scariest feeling and one I will never forget. When she finally started to cry, it was instant relief. I only got to hold her for a minute to take a picture before she was rushed away to be observed. They started an IV and after about 3 hours she perked up and we were able to really see her for the first time. I know that Heavenly Father must have special mission for her to fulfill because she could have easily died but it was not her time to go. Now, because of her head trauma she is battling jaundice but hopefully it will be over soon. Welcome home Alli!

Stephanie told my mom you made a haul and got everything you needed so I cut you out a fun little vinyl saying for you to hang in your nursery. It is at my moms I will try to have her get it to you. Best of luck can't wait to see her at the reunion. She is beautiful and I think she looks like her daddy in one of those pics.

  11. YAY, Megan! SO glad that she is here, safe and sound. Jackster had a sub-galeal bleed, too from the vacuum, and subsequently contracted the jaundice. Is she in the little tanning bed at home? No fun, but at least she's here, healthy and happy! You look great... even after labor! Love you! Hope you're doing okay!
