We are super excited to have a new addition to our family! I am due January 18, 2011 which still seems sooo far away. The anxiety I feel when I think about the delivery is starting to subside and I am getting more excited/scared/terrified to have two little ones to care for.

We celebrated Alli's first birthday on the 23rd. It was a lot of fun and she got SPOILED. We are going to have plenty to do this summer. Her Grandma and Grandpa Hansen got her a sand and water table that she loves! Dayne and I got her a little splish splash pool and Vickie got her a little sprinkler. Too bad it has been toooooo cold and we haven't been able to play in the water:( Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

Alli's New Accessory

Today! Day 3 and doing much better. My cute Visiting Teaching partner made her some bows that we could attach with velcro. She even made her a John Deere bow.

The first day wearing her helmet. I was trying to get a picture of her crying but when I pulled out the camera, she stopped crying and started smiling. Little Turkey!

Her head will be measured every 4 weeks

Alli was recently diagnosed with plagiocephaly
which is basically an asymmetrical head. She has a flat spot on the right side of her head which has caused her eye sockets and ears to no longer be alligned. After intense occupational therapy along with intense positioning and tummy time, the OT and Dr. feel that her head is not reshaping itself fast enough (this only works while the skull and sutures are still soft) so they reccommended putting her in a special helmet that will reshape her head as it grows to prevent future problems (TMJ, headaches, balance) and prevent surgery later. This process takes about 4 months wearing the helmet 23 hours a day, sometimes more, sometimes less (hopefully less).

Alli recently discovered the TV. She gets mad if you turn her around or block her view from it. We put her on her tummy this night to get her to roll over and she found the TV before she rolled over. Dayne exclaimed "Oh no! We have a TVAholic on our hands!!"

I could hear Alli and could tell she was getting frustrated. When I checked on her, this is what I found-her binky was stuck on her nose and she was using her tongue and trying with all her might to get it back in her mouth. I had a good laugh with this one!

Alli turned 3 motnhs a week ago (yes I am a little behind). These last 3 months have flown by! Alli loves her daddy and whenever she hears his voice, she looks around until she finds him. I love how she smiles at me and so far, I am the only one who can make her laugh. Love it!

I look forward to the Cassia County Fair every year. It is fun to see people I haven't seen in a while and to get to spend time with my family. Due to the weather however, I didn't make it to the rodeo but we all had fun at the parade and Alli LOVED it.

I borrowed this kigh tech little chair from my mom. It vibrates, bounces, and has this attachment that lights up, plays music, makes noises, and has blows bubbles that make the fish and starfish move. At first I took the attachment off because she didn't seem that interested and just liked the vibration and then a couple weeks later I put the attachment on and she LOVED it! At first she wasn't quite sure about it but then she really got into it.

I joined my parents for a couple of days at Nat-Soo-Pah. This was Alli's first time swimming and for the most part she liked it, the water was warm and it made her fall asleep. One of my favorite parts about this trip is that Anniston started calling Alli, "Owie Owie". She loves Baby Owie Owie and always has to maul her.

What is it about a new baby that when you hold them, all your cares seem to melt away? You can be entertained for hours just watching them sleep or laughing at the funny faces they make. Maybe it is their delicate features, their tiny hands and feet. Or maybe it is knowing that they are straight from heaven and that not so long ago they walked and talked with those loved ones that have gone before who were preparing them for their journey here.

We are so happy to have this new addition in our family. She is such a good baby! Things were a little iffy when she first arrived. Her head was turned sideways and I was having to push out the biggest part of her head. The dr. couldn't get it turned manually so we had to use the vaccuum. She ended up have some trauma to head-it ripped the skin and she has a big red bruise. Once her head turned she came right out but the cord was wrapped so tightly around her neck that she was white, limp, not breathing, and there was no heartbeat. The respitory team and nurses worked on her for what seemed like forever while we waited to hear her cry. That is the scariest feeling and one I will never forget. When she finally started to cry, it was instant relief. I only got to hold her for a minute to take a picture before she was rushed away to be observed. They started an IV and after about 3 hours she perked up and we were able to really see her for the first time. I know that Heavenly Father must have special mission for her to fulfill because she could have easily died but it was not her time to go. Now, because of her head trauma she is battling jaundice but hopefully it will be over soon. Welcome home Alli!

I thought you might like a little review of how my ever changing belly has greatly expanded. Now with only 7 days remaining until my due date, the final countdown has begun! I had my dr.'s appt. yesterday with the news that I am making excellent progress. Dilated to a 2 and 80%, he said we may have a baby by the end of the week! Wahoo!!!

I had my first little pregnancy scare yesterday and hopefully my only scare. But I am fine, it was just super scary for me. I had gone to help my mom work on baby shower invitations at my parent's house and nature called so I went to the bathroom and I ended up passing a lot of blood in my urine. I had felt fine all day and had no spotting, cramping, or any type of pain. I hollered for my mom and told her what had happened. I was terrified that something was wrong with the baby because of the amount of blood that had passed and I new it was too much to be a bladder, UTI, or kidney infection. We ended up getting a hold of the obstetrician on call and he told us to come to the birth center right away, he was worried that I might have a hemmorage somewhere. I gave a urine sample and once again full of blood. The nurses hooked me up to the monitors to keep an eye on the baby. I was running a low grade fever and didn't know it. They took another urine sample by catheter (yuck, my first experience with that!). The nurse said the baby looked really good and I was not having any bleeding. When the results came back from the UA there were traces of blood but no bacteria which means no infection. The dr. just thinks that I may have had a kidney stone and when it dissolved, some of the sand irritated my bladder. I was instructed to drink lots of water and if it happens again to come it right away. They are going to do a culture so if anything does show up, they will catch it. I have an appointment on Friday so hopefully everything stays good. I am so thankful that I was with my mom that day, I would have freaked out had I been by myself. 8 weeks and counting!

This is the newest addition to our family. Meet Roxy! Ever since my cousin Steve told us how much they love their German Shephard and will never have another kind of dog, Dayne has been set on getting one. He finally got one this week when an informant from the pound let us know they got in a purebred puppy that was 3 months old. She was kind of scrawny at first but is putting on some weight. She is a fast learner and likes being with Dayne at the dairy. Unfortunately, dogs don't seem to last long around a farm so I hope she learns to stay clear of tractor tires.

My good friend Rachelle was married in the Draper temple on Thursday and I was able to go down with my parents to the ceremony and then the reception in Orem. She looked beautiful but she picked the coldest day of the whole year!

Well here are the updated makeover pictures. My brother says now we have upgraded from white trash to trailer trash with money. My favorite improvement was the carpet. I love being able to walk around barefeet and not feel like I am going to get some disease. We have also upgraded from ag-bag to cement and regular plastic in our bathroom shower. I am just patiently waiting for the shower kit to be installed. Our next project is the nursery...

For those of you who have been introduced to the potato bag, I am sure that you also thought this was a wonderful invention. This amazing creation that magically turned a hard, raw potato into a fluffy masterpiece in only 8 minutes. Well, beware! One Sunday I was making baked potatoes in this bag and went to join my husband in the front room while they were cooking when I could smell smoke. I looked toward the kitchen and sure enough, it was filled with smoke. We raced to the kitchen and Dayne opened the microwave grabbed the flaming bag and chucked it outside. We had to retire Dayne's old microwave after that because it no longer worked. I am not going to complain however, because we got a pretty sweet new microwave out of the deal.

Caution: After reading this you may the sudden urge to go purchase a 1978 single wide trailer (I will not be held responsible) Oh the joys of living in a single wide trailer that was manufactured before you were even thought of. This is my list of the best reasons to live in one.

It gets your creative juices flowing: it is so much fun trying to find ways to store everything from a trailer full of wedding gifts, to food storage, to now making room for a baby.
I get to play hide and seek often: did I mention it is hide and seek with the mice? I want you to know that I have won! I found where they were coming in at and stuffed every potential hole with steal wool. (It wasn't until after one game where I found a whole nest of baby ones hiding in the stuffing of my brand new slippers however)

Before we left port, we had to do an evacuation drill. Dayne thought I looked hot!

We went to Mexico on a cruise and it was fabulous! We were able to relax and spend time with each other without the stress of the dairy and the farm. That will probably never happen again.

We were married February 8, 2008 in the Bountiful Utah Temple. Yes it was cold and yes I was frozen by the time pictures were over. Dayne barely made it through that morning because the freeways were closed and had been closed off and on throuout the week due to severely bad weather.My photographer couldn't make it so she found someone else to take her place and he did such a good job. Despite the weather throughout the week, it turned out to be a beautiful day, just a tad bit chilly.
